This fashionable but vintage article combines the gloss of laminated leather with a lived-in, antique look reminiscent of the past.

Ghinea is a development from Morbidone milled nubuck (thickness mm. 1.4/1.6). A metal foil is applied and treated in various processes and, after the final milling cycle, irregular cracks in the foil produce the so-called “Ghinea” effect. The look is named after the old British guinea coin. The coldness of the metal is attenuated by washing and drying in special centrifuges to give the foil a scratched, matte appearance and a consequently worn look.

The treatments developed to produce Ghinea give this laminated leather a rugged appearance suitable for use in sports and vintage products. In the past, laminated leather was largely relegated to the production of elegant evening shoes.
