Naturali

The original beauty of leather, with a silky, velvety touch

All the leather articles in our Naturali collection are made from raw cattlehide of exclusively Italian origin. These articles are destined mainly for the footwear industry and are 100% made in Italy. They are obtained from drum-dyed, uncovered leather, either nubuck (which is finely sanded on the grain side) or full grain aniline.

They undergo no “covering” finishes, and therefore maintain their natural look. A special tanning process gives these articles good colour and depth without altering the marks and minor imperfections that make every leather unique.

The transparency of Naturali leathers produces an unmistakeable artisan look that sets them aside from most industrial products on the market today, which may be suitable for large-scale manufacturing but often flatten out over time.

Movement makes the difference

Nearly all these articles, once tanned and finished, remain “static” on the grain side, with the exception of sanded and uncovered products like nubucks and suede splits.

While suede splits are made from the most economical layer of the hide, nubuck is the result of fine-sanding the precious outer layer. This is why nubuck boasts the same characteristics of elasticity and resistance as full grain leathers.  If you caress the surface of nubuck with your fingertips and move the ultra-fine collagen fibres in any direction, you create variations in shade that give this variety of leather a totally unique, lively and dynamic look.
